Home Sweet Home...

Leaving our first home is NOT going to be easy. When we came out looking for a traditional Pennsylvania-style home 4 years ago, we never imagined that we would fall so deeply in love with it! I found a home that I liked on the perfect street that sold before we could make an offer...so desperate to live on that exact street, I passed out flyers to see if anyone was willing to sell us their home. Luckily we had a couple calls, and one ended up being the perfect choice.
Here are pictures from the day that we bought it, and some from the day we SOLD it!

I fell in Love with the lay out..."center hall colonial" (like the one they talk about in Mona Lisa Smiles) Of course...I knew that the green banister would have to go!

My entry. One of my favorite rooms in the house. Always looks clean, and so warm and inviting.

The home had so much character! I died over the buffet cut out and built in china cabinet...they just dont make features like that anymore!

After buying the house, I walked around with the paint swatch "hunting coat red" in my pocket for 2 months! I knew it would be the perfect color for the room!

We were confused, but not discouraged about EVERY molding, doorframe, and the mantel painted powder blue! and notice the white painted bricks!

Our cozy living room...with a fireplace that I LOVE!

We knew we had to change the kitchen because I dont even think a cookie sheet would fit in that little oven!

I am going to miss cooking in here with Robbie! He brings his little chair in and helps me every day!

This room was our office and then Elle's room

Elle's

Robbie's before

and now

I was so happy to get such a large soaking tub...really it is, you cant see it in this pic! And black and white tile! most bathrooms out here are pink, blue or yellow!

Our family bathroom!

The master bedroom has 4 large windows...that was a plus. 2 small closets--not so much!

But we do love it...the space, the floor, the light!

Yep...we saw this and still bought it!

Rob had his own plans for it..thank goodness!

Yep...we saw this too, and still bought it!

Perfect size office & craft room for me!

I dont think one surface went unchanged in the entire house! We are going to miss it...because we created it! Both our kids have grown up here all their years! We are so excited for the new owners to love it as we have!

A couple Robbie stories...

This morning, Robbie came into our room and asked if the outside lights were on yet. I said yes, so he said "ok, when I say 'Im awake' that means that Im awake." Then he ran back in his bedroom shut the door and go under his covers. So I followed him and when I got to his door he announced, "Im awake!" So, I went in and said "honey, Im so glad you are awake." and he said "no no no, you say 'Good Morning Robbie!" So of course, I told him "good morning" and now that the morning went exactly as he has planned, he got up ready to start the day!
*
Yesterday he asked if we had a "coughing" table, because they that kind of table at Kate's house!
*
He loves to cook, last night he broke his string cheese in pieces and kept flipping a tortilla like a pizza...
*
Lately he is asking what it will be like when he is a daddy. "Amity wants me to be a daddy" He always askes "will I do that when Im a daddy?"
*
He is still a Prince, and he is still Superman...we live with a Royal Super Hero!
*
I love his new word: "Scrubble" it means, to scratch, to mess up, actually...it means a lot of things. He can always find a way to fit it into a sentence!

Too cold for Easter!

Sadly, Elle could not wear her easter dress today because it is TOO cold. I think Ill just wait until next month and then get some pictures in their Easter clothes. She is also in a little bit of trouble for not walking all the time. She can do it, she walks across the room, and from one thing to another...but she chooses to crawl and her clothes are getting so dirty.

Easter Morning!

When the kids got up, we went looking for the Easter Baskets.

Robbie had to get dressed first, and told me at least 10 times that he didnt need to button his shirt. When he wears them like that, they are called "Mulan Shirts." Because the guys in Mulan wear open shirts?

Rob and I went Friday night to pick out stuff for our Easter baskets. He chose a Ton of old movies...mostly James Bond.

I couldnt even take a picture of Elle's easter basket before she had knocked it over and gone for the chocolate. It was cute that there was no question which one was hers. she can spot a doll from a mile away!

She was pretty excited!

at the Zoo

After the Egg Hunt on Saturday, we went to the Zoo. I normally dont take pictures at the zoo...but it seemed like there was some cool stuff going on. Check it out!

This is an oversize water snapping turtle. It was just standing there...forever. weird!

These were so cute, look at them all cuddled up!

I LOVE the Philadelphia zoo, but especially "Big Cat Falls." We get to be right next to the Lions Tigers and Jaguars. Four lions were hanging out against the glass. They are SO pretty. When you are that close, they dont even seem dangerous, just like good friends.

A Trip Without the Kids!

We were so lucky to be able to take a week long vacation by ourselves! We take Robbie and Elle with us everywhere (which I love) but it was about time we go somewhere alone. My sweet Aunt and Uncle who are on a mission in Paris, let us come and stay with them for the week. Rob's mom came to play with the kids...so we were set.
We spent 4 days in Paris, a day in Brugge Belgium and a day driving around the French Countryside with our incredible hosts.
France is Enchanting!
