Birthday Cake Blues...

This was not my birthday cake...
nor this one, but seriously...HOW COOL ARE THESE?
Today was my special day and of course, it was pouring all day! I had thought the kids and I would go out...and we did, but we looked as though we had jumped into a pool with our clothes on! So, we came home and made a birthday cake...that was SO ugly I wont even post a picture. It was ok looking until I used a gel pen to write Happy Birthday...and it bled all over. Robbie was so funny all day..."Mom, after we do this can I teach you how to open your birthday presents? You rip the paper, and scrumble it like this." Anyway, Rob was sick today...he finally caught what we had. He couldnt even move. Its so sad to watch, especially because I know how bad it is having just gone through it!
Since he couldnt eat, I took the kids to a Japanese steakhouse (which was kind of weird, but it is what I felt like eating) We sat at our own table with our own chef and he did the whole show for us. The kids were entertained, but didnt eat a thing. I was happy though!

Happy Birthday to you! I was meaning to call you. I am sure Rob will make up for it when he is feeling better!

Chels, happy birthday girl! I would have taken the kids so you could have gone out if you wouldn't have moved on me! Just fly back drop the kids off and enjoy a nice night @ Steven Starrs. Thanks for the gift card, we enjoyed it right before the baby came!

You are an inspiration on not feeling bad for yourself. I would have probably just stayed home and done laundry or something. I'm glad that you got out (drenching rain and all) and made the most of your special day : )

Happy Birthday Chelsea! Sorry it rained on you and that Rob caught that awful bug. AND CONGRATS!! It's been a while since I've blog-surfed, so I just found out today that you're havin' a baby soon! We're all (Daines clan) happy and excited for you! When will you be visiting Utah next? We all love you and miss you!

I knew I missed it yesterday. I love ya, Chels! Glad you made the most of your 28th celebration. And I'm sure even though the cake didn't turn out perfectly, it was fun to make with your little babes!

Oh Chelsea, Happy Birthday! I think you are such a cute Mommy to take the kids out with you on your birthday! Way to make lemonade...I don't know what I would have done, but I hope that I would've been as good of a sport about it as you were.

And those cakes are so fancy! You have got to get to the bottom of how they make those....what kind of pan are you suspecting? I will let you figure that one out, and let me know when you do!
